Cute kids with messy faces

Sam wanted this butterfly "pop up treehouse"
for so long, and as you can see he was very
excited when it came in the mail.

It comes with these little tiny caterpillars in
a cup.

And they grow bigger and bigger

Until they turn into butterflies and move into
the "treehouse" and you feed them oranges,
flowers and sugar water

After a couple weeks we let them go

They let us hold them and play with them for
a little bit before they flew away

The weather down here has been nice and hot, so we have all been busy enjoying the beach, waterpark, and Sam's new favorite - the slip-n-slide. I have got to get better at bringing the camera and taking pictures. It is hard when you have 2 very active and wild children. Their energy is unbelievable, it has been an interesting stage. We try to keep them as busy as possible.

Sam's T-ball

So cute in his big uniform

Had to include a picture of Hannah. She had
fun digging in the dirt and hanging out with
the little girls on the team.

Sam just started playing T-ball and he had his 1st game on Sat. It was so funny and everyone was laughing so hard. The kids also had a lot of fun, especially when they all try to run after the ball. The kids ages range from 3-5, so of course, Sam is one of the youngest. But he doesn't care and has tons of fun, even if he doesn't get what is going on half the time. And now, everyone on the team and in the audience knows Sam. He would run the wrong way and run after his own balls, and everyone would yell "Sam! Sam!" Anyway, the movie is the short version of all the footage, but it is hilarious and catches some of the funniest moments. (Don't mind Tim's camera job - next time he will have to get a tripod.)

Painting

We just finished painting the hallway and the kids painted themselves and some paper. The hallway looks good, but now I am sore in many weird places. Can't wait to do the bathroom!

Kid update:
Sam is learning letter sounds and how to spell simple words. He can spell and write his name, and he can spell words such as mom, but when he goes to write Mom it turned out "OMO". He is getting the hang of it. He has just started getting into imaginary play where he is "SuperSam", or a police officer handing out tickets.

Hannah is now saying simple sentences - about three words together. She also knows her shapes and is begining to get colors. She really likes pink. She has also been telling us when she has gone potty in her diaper, so we began putting her on the potty. She calls it "Elmo potty" and really likes to sit on it and try to go, but so far nothing. She is learning a lot lately very fast. She is a really smart little girl.

January in Florida

The kids in their Packer jerseys before the
big game. We had some friends and neighbors
over to watch it on the new TV with HD, and
it turned out to be a very stressful game. Too
bad for the Pack.

The weather this winter has been very mild so
we decided to take the kids to the beach. They
had fun playing in the sand even if the water is
a little too cold.

Sam in mid-jump off the sand hill

These guys stuck around, there was not many
people on the beach so I guess they were hungry.
We didn't have any food, so the kids threw sand
and shells at them to see them get excited.

A Merry Christmas in Texas

We fed the ducks at a nearby pond. There were
tons of ducks and they got so close they would
take the food right out of your hand and let you
pet them. They were also pushing the kids around
and in the water, but the kids loved it.

Sam and cousin Shane went up to their waste
in the freezing cold pool. Hannah later joined
in on the fun, but none of the adults went for it.

Later at night we all enjoyed the hot tub

Hannah loved all the dogs. Especially Rebel, the
biggest one that let her ride him.

Making Christmas cookies. The boys did great
even though Shane made only candy cane cutouts.

They even did a good job frosting the cookies.
Notice Shane frosting his candy canes.

The tree before the kids got up. There were a
lot of people, there fore a lot of presents.

Hannah loves Blue's Clues. She did not get that
into unwrapping though, she preferred playing
with all the presents.

Shane with his cowboy boots and Sam loved
the nerf gun.

It was a nice little vacation to visit with family, and the kids got many presents which they are enjoying very much. They have a lot of stuff now to keep them busy in the house, which is good for us because they are better playing with toys than getting into trouble. We have also learned to buy 2 of pretty much everything which cuts down on the fighting. The joys of having 2 very active children.
Anyway, the kids are doing great. Sam is loving playing with our neighbor's 4 yr. old girl, playing computer games, and is wanting to do everything "by myself." Hannah is getting really good at talking and is able to put a couple of words together to get her needs known. She also loves any kind of animal, and they love her. Even the animals that won't let anyone touch them, comes to her and she pets them, hugs them, and is very gentle with them.

Holidays

We finally took some family pictures - it was a 2 day ordeal

At the tree farm hunting down the perfect
Christmas tree

Hannah had tons of fun looking at the trees
running around and laughing

We found our tree

Before anything else could be done the train
had to be put up. Of course it is the most
important thing - to Sam anyway

He was so happy when it was finished. It is
bigger than his trains, so when we got it he
said "Wow! This is the biggest train I've
ever seen!"

Sam's wore his first bike out, so we figured it
was time for a bigger bike. He was so devastated
when his bike broke we couldn't even wait till
Christmas to get him a new one. He loves his bike
and rides it every day.

Hannah also got a bike. She can almost ride it,
but for now she prefers pushing it around

Happy Thanksgiving with Mom and Dave

After Thanksgiving dinner we decorated a
gingerbread house. The kids loved it but ate
half the candy. Now that it is finished they
(including Tim) are still eating the candy off it.
I wonder if it will actually make it to Christmas.

the kids liked feeding the animals

there was a huge jumping thing that Sam loved
and Hannah loved to watch
